WARWICKSHIRE POLICE have launched an appeal to identify two males following an incident of violent disorder involving a blade in the nearby town of Nuneaton this evening (Friday, 1 July).

The incident took place outside of the Asda supermarket based on Newtown Road, near Nuneaton town centre, at approximately 5.05pm.
And, one man was armed with a ‘large blade’, a force spokesperson has confirmed.
Detective Sergeant, Emma Mackay, working with Nuneaton CID, has stated that the “terrifying” incident was witnessed by members of the public in broad daylight, which has left them ‘shocked’ as a result.

Detective Sergeant Mackay further reassured residents that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
She explained: “I would like to reassure local people we have launched a thorough investigation into this incident. There will be a police presence in the area overnight.”
Whilst videos of the incident have emerged on social media platforms, officers have suggested that those with any footage should share it with the force directly “as a matter of urgency” to help them with the investigation.
Two photographs have since been released of two males that may have information that could help with the police’s enquiries into the incident.
A caption supports the photographs of the two men showing that officers want to identify them.
Those who recognise the men in the picture, or have any photos, videos, or details, which will help police with their enquiries are being encouraged to come forward and call the non-emergency police number of 101, quoting incident 255 of 1 July 2022.
Alternatively, those who would rather report details anonymously are able to do so by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
