Their newly-installed signage at the top of the shop was spotted today (20 May), which confirmed the tenant, but internal construction work was first noticed on 11 May.

Impressively, the former card shop has found an occupant in less than three months.

At present, Hays Travel still have a branch next door to adult gaming centre Cashino, which they are still trading from, as they have not yet announced a re-location date.

They first opened on Castle Street in December 2019 in the former Thomas Cook, at a similar time to Millington Travel, who opened inside the former William Hill bookies.

Castle Street is also set to play home to a second Greggs branch soon, as plans have been given the ‘thumbs up’. This has fuelled speculation their Britannia site will close at the end of May. However, a spokesperson did not confirm nor deny the rumour.
