BOROUGH RESIDENTS in Nuneaton and Bedworth are being encouraged to to take part in the council’s free ‘Wellbeing Walks’.

The volunteer-led walks offer between 10 minutes to two hours of walking time, making for a simple and free way for people of all ages to get more exercise, make friends, and reduce loneliness and isolation.
Linked with the Ramblers, the walks are held weekly throughout the year in various places in Nuneaton and Bedworth.
Coun. Julian Gutteridge, Portfolio Holder for Health and Environment, said: “We all know the many great benefits that walking can bring, not only to our physical health but our mental health, too. It is also a wonderful way to make new friends and can help you feel part of the community.
“Our fantastic Wellbeing Walks are easy to access, sociable and cater for all abilities, and I would encourage anyone to join.”
The walks would not exist without the fantastic efforts of the volunteer walk leaders. As ambassadors for walking, walk leaders provide vital support that members of the community otherwise might not get, and help people to get active and healthy.
If you think this is something you would enjoy getting involved in, you can get in touch by filling out a form online.
For more information, or to register to take part in one of the walks, visit the Get Active For Life website. You only need to join a group once to access all future walks.
