At around 9.40pm, Nuneaton and Bedworth police officers were called down to a pub on Abbey Street after they had received reports of a man allegedly being ‘disruptive’.

After allegedly having been drinking for some time, he reportedly hit one member of the public in the face with a menu.

When being escorted out by staff members, he allegedly started smashing the pub’s windows, broke a glass bottle against the outside wall, and smashed a chair.

He was arrested a short time later, on suspicion of criminal damage and common assault.

Police Constable Trotter said: “Pubs are not crèches for delinquents – they should not have to tolerate patrons throwing a tantrum once they’ve been asked to leave. If you think you’ve hit the point of one too many, it might be time to go home.”
