BARWELL CEMETERY is now operating with Winter hours, parish council bosses have confirmed.

The news was made known in an update on the council’s official website earlier this week (Monday, 30 October), penned by the deputy council clerk.

In it, they confirmed that the winter hours have started being used from this Wednesday (1 November), and they will remain this way until next March.

The new seasonal change means visitors can able to use the main gates with their vehicles from 8am to 3pm, and then the hand gate for an extra hour, from 8am to 4pm.

On bank holidays, the hours change slightly, from 9am to 4pm respectively.

It is now expected that the next time we will hear an update on the cemetery will be for the Christmas period.

Afterwards, the hours will change in April, where they will stay through to October.
