HINCKLEY’S soon-to-open LGBT+ live music bar has officially revealed their opening date, and been given the ‘thumbs up’ to serve alcohol from the licencing department.

As we reported last month, a premises notice was spotted at the former Delightful Desserts parlour on Waterloo Road, showing that the new gay bar wanted to serve alcohol and late night refreshments, as well as hold dance routines, and play music.
And, in a social media statement penned by Electric Chapel owner Charlie Lord earlier today (Thursday, 2 November), he shared the good news that it has been granted.
He simply wrote: “Thank you to each and every one of you who contacted HBBC (Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council) with letters and messages of support. The final hurdle has been cleared, and our licence has been granted!”
Speaking to the Hinckley Free Press, he exclusively confirmed: “We’re still slapping up paint and rushing around to get everything done in time for the launch, which I can now finally announce to be Friday, December 1st!”
Charlie also noted that the highly-anticipated launch night will feature appearances from ‘curvaceous, and vivacious’ Midlands drag icon Rubella Vaxine, as well as local legend and ‘fishy queen’ Miss TuTu, who will perform a lip-sync routine and full set.
A ‘gobsmacking’ raffle will be held on the night, featuring “probably the best” prizes in the area generously donated by local businesses, and drinkers will be able to enjoy a wide range of drinks, including cocktails, mocktails, martinis, mojitos, and shots.
