A FOOTPATH in Barwell is to close to users for the day next Wednesday (1 November).

That is the footpath leading from Washington Close through to Charleston Crescent. A ‘heads up’ was given in advance by parish council bosses on their official website.

According to a statement, seen by the Hinckley Free Press, the footpath is to close as a safety measure so that the county council’s highways team are able to carry out any necessary footpath patching and highway roadworks in that area on the day.

A diversion route will be put in place on the day, for those who regularly pass through it, and will be directly affected by the day-long closure.

The diversion route is via: Washington Close, Boston Way, Charleston Crescent, Barwell and vice versa.
