TWO MUCH-LOVED Hinckley parks have yet again snapped up Green Flag Awards – officially ranking them amongst the best parks and green spaces in the country.

The double accolade means Hollycroft Park has been awarded its 14th Green Flag Award, whilst Argents Mead has been awarded its seventh Green Flag Award.
The Green Flag Award scheme is managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
A spokesperson for Hinckley and Bosworth borough council explained that the award serves as a sign that a park or green space “boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained, and has excellent visitor facilities”.
Coun. Lynda Hodgkins, the Borough Council’s Executive Member for Street Scene Services, Parks and Open Spaces, thanked the Friends of Hollycroft Group for their dedication, as well as council staff members respectively.
She said: “The news that Hollycroft Park and Argents Mead have both achieved the Green Flag Award once again is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team that make the green space a great space that everyone can enjoy.
“Thanks are due to the staff at the council, and in particular, the Friends of Hollycroft Park Group, for their dedication and hard work that has helped Hollycroft Park to be awarded its 14th Green Flag, a fantastic achievement.”
Paul Todd MBE, Manager of Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved at Hollycroft Park and Argents Mead in achieving a Green Flag Award.
“These parks are vital green spaces for the community in Hinckley and Bosworth, bringing people together and providing opportunities to lead healthy lifestyles.
“The staff and volunteers at Friends of Hollycroft Park do so much to ensure they maintain the high standards of the Green Flag Award and everyone involved should feel extremely proud of their achievement.”
