LOVABLE kids TV characters Pip and Posy are set to head on down to Hinckley’s Argents Mead park next Wednesday to join in the fun at the Snap Dragon festival.

The stars of the award-winning Sky Kids show, which is aimed at preschoolers, and produced by Magic Light Pictures, will be in the park to greet children and families from 11am to 3pm on Wednesday, 2 August, and help celebrate national Playday.
According to their YouTube channel, they are ‘the best of friends’, and “their lives revolve around a wonderful world of play, packed with warmth and humour.”
A borough council spokesperson stated they will be making appearances throughout the day, by holding activities and giving away “exciting goodies” to all attendees.
The exciting news of their appearance was made almost two weeks in advance by a spokesperson for the borough council on social media sharing site Facebook.
On the same day, visitors can watch a Punch and Judy show and listen to a story from Tom the Tale Teller, then join a dhol percussion and bhangra dance workshop with Jodi Dancers, meet the police, have fun in the roleplay village, or tuff tray corner.
Additionally, they can even enjoy a traditional ‘day at the seaside’ inside of a giant sandpit each day, which has been generously been sponsored by Hinckley BID.
They can also meet Snappy the festival mascot, pose for photos in a giant deckchair, or dance at the ‘Snappy disco’, sponsored by Hinckley’s own radio station, Fosse 107.
Jo Jingles will be holding a ‘music and movement’ session, specially aimed at infants.
Other fun activities include playing in the games garden, or even bringing a teddy and enjoying a teddy bear’s picnic at one of the many picnic benches under our pagodas.
The full schedule for all days can be found on the borough council’s website.
The council’s executive member for culture, Deputy Leader Coun. Mark Bools, said: “I am delighted that now in its 10th year the Snap Dragon Family Festival continues to support families and children with a huge amount of fun, in a safe environment.
“Appreciating that family days out can be expensive, I hope that as many people as possible can join us at these events and have a fantastic time.”
