Owner of The Cafe Lounge in Church Street, Ibrahim Ozen, made it known through a notice in the window that they will soon be moving to Abbey Street, in a unit which formerly played home to Coventry Building Society, and has sat empty since 2021.

The handwritten notice simply reads: “We are moving to Abbey Street. Was Coventry Building Society. Opening 25th August. We look forward to seeing you there”, with the message signed from ‘Ibrahim and staff’.

But, they will not sport the same name when they open from the new location. It will instead trade under the new identity of ‘Cafe Haven’.

To give an idea of the offerings inside once open to both customers old and new, the Cafe Lounge pride themselves on their breakfasts and omelettes, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and toasties, and cups of tea and coffee.

This isn’t the only new business setting up shop on Abbey Street.

In fact, a new branch of the Post Office is poised to open its doors for the first time next Thursday (3 August), inside of the former Supernews convenience shop.

The former Bodycare beauty shop is becoming Star Sports’ first Midlands branch, and it looks to be opening some time soon as security hoardings have came down.

And, just down the road on Harefield Road, a former Middle Eastern-inspired eatery named Dubai Kitchen is being transformed into a brand new variety shop.
