BOSSES at Barwell Parish Council chiefs have launched a public consultation on where a new Covid memorial bench should be installed.

Last Friday (23 June), Council Clerk Denise Deighton made it known that four main local areas are being considered to play home to the newly-proposed bench across the village, and they are “keen to know” whereabouts residents think it should go.
The four options were shared to their official website, and are as follows:
- In Top Town – with relevant permission
- Outside St. Mary’s Church, on the grass verge
- Barwell Tip Park
- Radford Park, off Masefield Close
Anybody looking to share a location of their own choice to be put forward to do so as a recommendation can simply leave a comment in a post on their Facebook page.
At present, the majority vote has gone towards the church. One resident said: “I think outside the church, as its a quiet place for people to sit and reflect and it seems quite apt with the other memorials there.” Many echoed similar sentiments respectively.
