Last Friday (23 June), Council Clerk Denise Deighton made it known that four main local areas are being considered to play home to the newly-proposed bench across the village, and they are “keen to know” whereabouts residents think it should go.

The four options were shared to their official website, and are as follows:

  1. In Top Town – with relevant permission
  2. Outside St. Mary’s Church, on the grass verge
  3. Barwell Tip Park
  4. Radford Park, off Masefield Close

Anybody looking to share a location of their own choice to be put forward to do so as a recommendation can simply leave a comment in a post on their Facebook page.

At present, the majority vote has gone towards the church. One resident said: “I think outside the church, as its a quiet place for people to sit and reflect and it seems quite apt with the other memorials there.” Many echoed similar sentiments respectively.
