A TEENAGE GIRL has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer in Nuneaton town centre yesterday evening (Monday, 12 June).

According to Warwickshire Police in a statement this morning, the officer reported being assaulted after he was called to a fast-food restaurant on Queens Road to disperse a group of young people who were verbally assaulting members of the public.
A 15-year-old girl from nearby Ansley, close to the county border, was arrested of suspicion of assaulting an officer and committing a public order offence. She has since been bailed whilst enquiries into the incident continue.
Now, any witnesses or people with details into the incident which could help police with their enquiries are being encouraged to pass them on.
