HINCKLEY’S landmark former cinema, The Danilo, may have found a new taker.

It was noticed today (Sunday, 28 May), that the ‘for sale’ sign has been taken down and the entirety of the roof has been removed, which has exposed the wooden frameworks and beams underneath.

This suggests works may be underway, and a new buyer may have finally been found, after sitting empty, dilapidated, and crumbling away internally for some 19 years.

It was earlier last year when we reported it was ‘under offer’ – meaning that contracts had been exchanged, and that an acceptable offer had been made.

At the time of publication, no new documents have been filed with the borough council’s online planning portal on what specific works are being carried out.

The Hinckley Free Press have previously reached out to letting agents Savills and did not hear back, but will approach them for comment once again.
