HINCKLEY and Bosworth’s new mayor for the next twelve months was officially appointed in a council meeting earlier this week (Tuesday, 23 May).

Coun. Scott Gibbens, who represents Hinckley’s De Montfort ward, was handed the chains of office from former borough mayor, Coun. Dawn Glenville, before a council chamber which was ‘packed’ with special guests.
Councillor Gibbens was first elected to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council four years ago, back in May 2019. He is married to fellow councillor Cathie Gibbens, who has since been named the Mayor’s Consort.
Throughout his term, Councillor Gibbens will be fundraising for the Hinckley Area Foodbank and Cat Action Trust Nuneaton and Hinckley.
In his spare time, he enjoys walking his dogs and playing guitar.
The new deputy mayor of the borough is Coun. Robin Webber-Jones, representative for Newbold Verdon, with the Desford and Peckleton wards. His consorts are his two daughters – Amelia, aged 12, and Clara, aged eight.
