Boy, 17, stabbed on platform at Nuneaton railway station

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the arm at Nuneaton railway station.

The British Transport Police received a report of a stabbing on one of the platforms at 10.50pm on Thursday (13 April), after the 10.22pm train from Birmingham New Street arrived at the station.

He was taken to hospital in an ambulance after receiving the stab wound to his arm. He has since been discharged from hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing.

Enquiries remain ongoing, and no arrests have yet been made at the time of publication (Sunday, 16 April).

Now, officers working with the British Transport Police are urging anybody who witnessed the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference of 2300041426.”

Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
