STAGECOACH’S Leicester bus service – the 48L – which serves and passes through Hinckley, has seen a major change come into play today (Saturday, 15 April).

It has been renamed the 148, as part of the Warwickshire Enhanced Bus Partnership, which sees Stagecoach East Midlands working alongside Arriva.
As a result, buses serving the 148 and 158 routes will pull in every 15 minutes from Monday to Saturday daytime, and every 30 minutes in the evenings and on Sundays.
And, instead of parking up at the Haymarket Bus Station, they now call at the St. Margaret’s Bus Station instead. They also stop at Causeway Lane for the Highcross Shopping Centre, and St. Nicholas Circle for Jubilee Square and the High Street.
Valid Stagecoach bus tickets can now be used interchangeably on Arriva’s 158 service, with the exception of term tickets and Study Rider tickets.
One of the signposted notices informed users of timetable changes between Coventry and Nuneaton, however, this will not affect the service’s frequency.
It reads: “You will also see changes to the timetable between Coventry and Nuneaton, but no change in frequency. Buses will connect Coventry and Leicester every 30 minutes.”
Arriva have announced that their changes to their 158 service will come into effect tomorrow (Sunday, 16 April).
