He was punched in the face by another male, whilst in the street on Gilmorton Avenue at 8pm on Tuesday, 4 April. A car which was trying to pass through the road had to come to a stop due to the men being in the road.

Leicestershire Police descended on down to the scene of the incident after the man who was punched reported it to the force directly.

When officers arrived, they arrested a 29-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm without intent, and causing actual bodily harm. He has since been released on bail.

Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Stacey Jones, from Braunstone CID, said: “From enquiries carried out so far, I know that a white car driving along Gilmorton Avenue had to stop as both men were in the road.

“I’d like to speak to the driver about what they saw. If you’re that person, please get in touch as you may be able to provide information that could help. Likewise, I’d like to speak to anyone who was in Gilmorton Avenue and witnessed the incident.”

Anybody with details is being encouraged to pass them on to officers by using the ‘Report a crime’ portal on their official website, or by calling the non-emergency number of 101, quoting 23*203857.
