Newly-lodged planning documents filed with North Warwickshire Borough Council reveal the new eatery would be named ‘Mimosa Turkish Grill’ – and it would take over the former ‘Happy Gathering’ Chinese takeaway, next door to The Wheatsheaf Inn.

As part of the plans, new storefront signage would be installed atop the unit to make its presence known, and a new extract system would be fitted.

Seven new jobs would be created locally for the new venture, with five of the employees set to work full-time, whilst two would work on a part-time basis.

It would trade from 8am to 11pm on Monday to Friday, 9am to 11pm on Saturday, and 10am to 11pm on Sunday.

The applicant behind the fresh new plans is Atherstone businessman Mr. Muhammet Gilgil, who already has links to Long Street’s ‘UK Pizza and Kebabs’ takeaway.

At the time of publication (18 March), the plans are currently ‘awaiting decision’. A public consultation started last Thursday (9 March), and is being held until 30 March.
