TWO BOYS have been arrested after police seized a stolen car following a pursuit which ended in Bedworth, near Nuneaton, last Friday night (3 March).

Officers initially spotted the car in Holbrook Lane, in the Holbrooks area of Coventry, which is where they made their first attempt to stop it.

This then led to a car chase between the boys and officers, which eventually came to an end in Bedworth.

Once in Bedworth, the car’s occupants ran off, but they were found by the force, who located one of them on Coventry Road, and the other on Longford Road.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police confirmed in a statement that the boys, aged 15 and 17, have since been released under investigation.

They said: “A 15-year-old boy from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drink or drugs, burglary, driving without a licence or insurance, failing to stop, aggravated vehicle taking and theft of a motor vehicle.

“A 17-year-old boy from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving while under the influence of drink or drugs, and burglary.

“Both boys have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
