SOUTH LEICESTERSHIRE’S Member of Parliament, Alberto Costa, recently attended Blaby District Council’s ‘Business Breakfast’ conference.

The meeting was held inside of Leicester’s Marriott Hotel in Grove Park on Friday, 17 February, where he heard from local business leaders, and the ‘positive impact’ that they continue to have in the county.
In a press statement issued on his website, Alberto described the session was a “great opportunity” to hear from local business people, and stated they are ‘extremely passionate’ about the work they do locally.
He further added: “I was delighted to attend and speak to so many fantastic businesspeople from across the area. I am always keen to hear about the work they do and how it benefits people across the constituency, the wider Leicestershire area and beyond.
“It was also clear that these businesspeople are extremely passionate about the work they do. Small or large, these businesses all have great stories about how they started and the many customers they have had over the years.”
“Local businesses are at the heart and soul of our communities. The services they provide, the work they do and the people they employ are all fantastic”, he continued.
Alberto concluded: “It is therefore great that the government are protecting small business like the ones present at this breakfast by making sure they don’t pay the top rate of Corporation Tax, are receiving relief on their energy bills and, in the near future, will benefit from the remodelling of business rates.
“Supporting local businesses and keeping our high streets busy is essential and I will continue to stand by their side.”
