The large and dangerous sharp bladed item was discovered by borough council workers, either inside of the Stockingford Recreational Ground, or Camp Hill’s Windmill Hill Park, both of which have been patrolled by police officers today.

This prompted the council workers to inform Nuneaton and Bedworth Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), who were patrolling the parks, where they collected the dangerous item, and have since re-assured park-goers that it will be disposed of.

On social media, a spokesperson for Nuneaton and Bedworth Police said: “Council workers made us aware of a machete left in the park. This has been seized for destruction.”

The exact park it was discovered in has not yet been officially confirmed by officers at the time of publication.
