Man, in 60s, in hospital after being hit by car in Stapleton

A MAN in his 60s has been taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a collision in Stapleton, near Barwell.

Leicestershire Police officers descended on down to Ashby Road, Stapleton, at 7.44am on Tuesday (24 January), after recieving a report of a collision involving a male pedestrian and a red Ford Fiesta.

Colleagues from the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) also attended at the scene, where they took the injured man, in his 60’s, to hospital.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police stated that no arrests have yet been made, but enquiries are being carried out to establish the full circumstances of the collison.

Detective Constable Anna Thorpe, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Our enquiries into this incident are continuing and I’d like to speak to anyone who might be able to help but has not yet contacted police.

“Motorists with dashcams or anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to get in touch. Any details you’re provide could help.”
