BARWELL’S new One Stop shop is set to open its doors this Saturday (14 January) – with an opening ceremony to celebrate.

That is according to a spokesperson for the new shop, based on High Street, in a post shared on the Spotted Barwell and Earl Shilton Facebook group today (9 January).
The statement simply reads: “One Stop store opening this Saturday (14th January) in High Street, Barwell. Feel free to join the opening ceremony from 9am onwards.”
The new shop will marks the official return of One Stop to Barwell, after their former branch on Moore Road was converted into a Tesco Express shop in January 2022.
It was back in November that we revealed the chain wanted back ‘in’ on the village, after seeking permission from the borough council to install storefront signage, poster cases, and window stickers at the site of a former motorcycle shop.
Whilst ‘coming soon’ posters first emerged last week, contractors have been inside working around the clock for a number of weeks in a bid to get it open for shoppers.
The new shop is located at 124 High Street, Barwell, LE9 8DR, directly next door to the Barwell Indian Cuisine takeaway restaurant.
One Stop is a subsidiary of Tesco.
