Green-fingered volunteers from the Hinckley and Rugby Building Society helped Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council’s Green Spaces Team in planting the new trees and hedges inside of Wykin Community Park on Wykin Road last Friday (6 January).

A spokesperson for Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) took to social media to give all involved a ‘huge thanks’ – where they further described their voluntary community work as “amazing”.

They further made it known that anybody who wants to help volunteer with the green spaces team in the future simply has to email them.

They explained: “Our Green Spaces team will be planting a lot more trees throughout the next few months across the borough. If you would like to volunteer or find out more about volunteering please email green.spaces@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk.”

These aren’t the only new trees to be planted in the Hinckley and Bosworth borough recently.

Last month in Barwell, Barwell Parish Council’s Chairman, Coun. Michael Gould, planted 70 new saplings inside of the Tip Park – as part of the borough council’s “free tree” campaign which was launched to help tackle climate change locally.
