Much-loved pet supply shop closes for good in Nuneaton town centre

A MUCH-LOVED pet supply shop who have been a staple of Nuneaton town centre for the past 60 years have traded for the final time today (Saturday, 24 December).

Martin’s Pet Supplies, based on Queens Road, made their closure known with a post to customers on social media sharing site, Facebook, last week (16 December).

In it, a shop spokesperson explained that the closure was down to them wanting to ‘head on to their next adventure’ – and they thanked their all of their loyal customers for their continued support.

It reads: “As some of you are aware we’ll be closing our doors for good and heading onto our next adventure. We’ll be closing our doors for the very last time on the 24th of December (Christmas Eve) probably around 2-3pm (time still isn’t confirmed).

“We have a few birds still in store if anyone is interested in giving one a new forever home. It’ll be a sad goodbye but a long overdue one. We thank all of our wonderful and loyal customers for your continued support.”

Many of their shoppers wished them ‘good luck’ with their future.

One said: “So sad to hear your going. I wish you all the best in the future.”

Another said: “Good luck to you all, I will definitely miss you on the high street”.

Adrian and Gaynor Pinnegar added: “Will miss popping in.”

Due to its long tenure as a town centre tenant, some reminisced on their visits into the shop.

Hayley Tennant, said: “Have a very merry Xmas. Here’s to new adventures in 2023. You have been part of my childhood and my family over the years and will be greatly missed! All the best Chris and good luck.”

Jane Davies, said: “All the best in the future.. I have enjoyed your pet shop for 45yrs .. loved coming in and seeing the pets since I was a little girl, merry Christmas to you and the family.”
