BOSWORTH IN BLOOM ‘flourished’ at the East Midlands in Bloom awards, as they successfully managed to take home an impressive total of five awards.

Market Bosworth’s “In Bloom” team, snapped up five awards – with two of them being gold awards. They won one gold award in the ‘large village’ category, and another gold award for the ‘best residential front garden’ at Rainbow Cottage.
A bronze award was given to Wheatsheaf Yard for ‘the best commercial premises’, and the best spring bulb display for the Rotary Daffodils categories, whilst Rev. Mark Poskitt and the team at St Peter’s Church were given the judges award.
The group is formed of volunteers who work together to help make Market Bosworth ‘a more beautiful place’ to live and work by helping to plant, place and maintain hanging baskets, troughs, flower beds, and window boxes across the village.
Judges commented on the village being “spotless” and having “a real sense of civic pride.”
They further added: “This year’s glorious entry was up to the usual high standard and the judges were delighted to see some new features. With over 100 colour themed baskets and tubs, the traditional planting is perfect for the setting and has high impact. Well organised support from the WI and Rotary keeps them healthy and immaculate.
“The country park with its open spaces and mature trees is well maintained and heavily used by locals and visitors alike.”
