A FREE FESTIVE fun run is to take place across Hinckley town centre next month.

The fourth annual fun run will take place on Sunday, 4 December. It has been arranged by bosses at Hinckley BID in partnership with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC).
Participants can head on down to the Market Place at 10.45am to prepare and warm up for the run with the ‘Healthy Elf’, just 15 minutes before the main race is underway.
The main fun run will start from 10.45am to 12.30pm – 1 hour and 45 minutes in total.
All age groups and all abilities are welcome – and so are well-behaved dogs in fancy dress.
It has been suggested that participants don festive costumes to get into the Christmas spirit, such as Santa Claus, an elf, or reindeer, or even a Christmas jumper or a Santa hat with some casual clothes.
All participants who sport a Yuletide theme will be awarded a commemorative neck medal by Hinckley and Bosworth Mayor, Coun. Dawn Glenville.
Hinckley BID have noted that their will be five different town centre vouchers up for grabs.
The prizes are as follows:
£25 Award – Best Festive Costume – Junior Runner-Up
£25 Award – Best Festive Costume – Senior Runner-Up
£50 Award – Best Festive Costume
£50 Award – Best Family Group Festive Costumes
£50 Award – Best Mad Hatters Christmas Hat *
A new prize category, titled the “Best Mad Hatters Christmas Hat”, has been added this year, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Age UK’s local Leicestershire & Rutland branch respectively. A £50 town centre voucher will be handed to the person wearing the ‘most spectacularly mad festive hat’.
Those looking to support Age UK as their ‘chosen charity’ for their participation in the race can do so by downloading their fundraising pack online.
