NEW ATTRACTIONS have been planned for Burbage’s Christmas Market this year, in hopes to make it ‘extra magical’ this year on Friday, November 25.

The Christmas Market will feature festival stalls, children’s fairground rides on Windsor Street, a ‘winter wonderland’ of illuminated creatures at The Horsepool, and a host of new Christmas characters on Pughe’s Paddock in the form of family-friendly photo boards.
A Parish Council spokesperson stated the photo-boards will prove to be perfect ‘for staging seasonal snaps to treasure, or share.’ And they will include a giant reindeer and Santa, a child-sized snowman and polar bear, with cut-out face holes for people to peek through.
Shops, businesses, churches and community venues in Burbage plan to open in the evening, with market-goers being encouraged to make a circuit of the village centre, so that they are able to take in all that is on offer.
Children and families are being encouraged to follow a festival trail, which will have a treat at the end for them.
Burbage Parish Council have stated that they are grateful to the Burbage branch of the Royal British Legion in helping to co-ordinate the Windsor Street stalls.
At the time of publication (6 November), there are only a few pitches remaining. To book a pitch, contact the RBL on 07765 660358, or email burbage.secretary@rbl.community.
Stall holders will need to be public liability insurance, provide all of their own equipment, power and lighting – and even pay a £20 deposit.
It has been noted that a road closure will be in place before, during, and after, the event.
