Man, 50, arrested on suspicion of assault in Earl Shilton last night

A 50-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on suspicion of assault in Earl Shilton last night (1 November) – and he has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

That is according to Leicestershire Police in a statement today (2 November), after a man was found injured on Wood Street in Earl Shilton at around 7.25pm last night.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman told the Hinckley Free Press: “Officers were called to Wood Street in Earl Shilton around 7.25pm yesterday (Tuesday, 1 November) after a man was found injured in the street.

“It’s believed he had been assaulted and suffered an injury to his head. He was treated at the scene. A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.”

Police were still at the scene of the incident an hour and 10 minutes after the incident, as passers-by had spotted police vehicles parked at the Lord Nelson pub at 8.35pm.

And now, an investigation is underway into the incident and the circumstances leading up to it.
