DUNKIN’ have officially opened their doors to their brand-new Fosse Park location today (Saturday, 22 October).

The American chain opened their first location in Leicester, marking a ‘first’ for the county, as it previously only had branches in nearby Nottingham and Mansfield.

Many dedicated donut lovers queued up outside the shop early from 8am, in hopes to be one of the lucky few first people in, so they could win a free box of donuts.

As we reported last week, the first 50 guests to head on inside would be handed a free box of six donuts every day for five days to celebrate the opening.

Staff members were on hand with trays of warm coffee tasters so that keen customers wouldn’t be left cold whilst they were waiting to get on in.

DUNKIN’ themed goodies were also being handed out for participants of their “Dunk to Win” basketball game near the entrance, for those who made successful shots.

The site sports the brand’s iconic bright pink and orange colour scheme throughout inside and out. It is fitted with self-service ordering kiosks, comfy couches, vibrant décor, a main ordering counter, and a ‘pick-up’ collection area for delivery drivers.

Those looking for their donut fix from the comfort own their own home can do so, as DUNKIN’ have a presence on all three delivery platforms: Uber Eats, Just Eat, and Deliveroo.

The Hinckley Free Press asked James Guy, New Store Openings Manager, if there were any plans for a Hinckley branch.

At present, nothing could be confirmed, but he mentioned that any potential locations which are suggested by fans are considered, and they should ‘watch this space’.

DUNKIN’s very own mascot, Mr. Dunk, even made a surprise appearance, greeting the many customers who had been queuing up, greeting both the young and elderly customers – while also taking part in many photo opportunities.

The store was declared officially open at 10am with a ribbon cutting held by branch managers and staff members. It marks the chain’s 26th store to open in the country.

DUNKIN’ can be found at Unit 14, LE19 1HX, in the Fosse Park West car park, in a circular pod-style unit, directly opposite the Starbucks Coffee branch.
