TWO GIANT illuminated puppets are to electrify crowds in Nuneaton town centre as they walk around interacting with town-goers and community groups next week.

The 20-foot illuminated puppets, named “DUNDU” and “BABY DUNDU”, will perform as a part of the experience, which has been arranged by international firm Dundu.
The puppets, described as “the gentle giants of lights”, have been welcomed to come to town with support from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC), Global Streets, and Imagineer Productions, who previously arranged past local attractions.
In past times, Imagineer Productions previously bought a 20-foot mechanical puppet of Lady Godiva to the town centre. The same Lady Godiva puppet also formed part of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations over in London earlier this year.
The free event, which is fun for all the family, will start in Newdegate Street on Wednesday, 26 October, from 6.30pm.
Jane Hytch, Imagineers Productions CEO, said: “Through years of stellar craftsmanship, original live music, and finely tuned puppeteering, we can bring a visual, interactive, mobile experience to Nuneaton.
“It is hard to describe the captivating nature of this glowing figure but when we see the lights light up in someone’s eyes, we know our puppets have achieved our goal – to instil a simple sense of wonder and togetherness in adults and children alike.
“The only thing larger than these giants are their hearts.”
Coun. Kris Wilson, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council Leader, said: “Yet again, we are supporting residents to enjoy new experiences, and this event promises to be another spectacular feature that the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth will get to see live and up close.
“Please do come down and join us if you are available – these things don’t happen that often.”
