That is according to Earl Shilton Town Council in a social media statement posted to Facebook two days ago (Wednesday, 5 October), informing residents of the incidents.

A Town Council spokesperson explained that the vandals have destroyed pieces of play equipment and bins, which now need to be repaired, or replaced entirely.

They further stressed that the funding on helping to fix up the play areas ultimately holds the Town Council back from improving other local facilities across the town.

They said: “The cost to repair and replace play equipment and bins, etc, will prevent the Town Council from improving other areas, which is such a shame for the residents and families that appreciate the open spaces and parks within the Town.”

Anyone who notices any acts of anti-social behaviour, such as vandalism, in the local area are being encouraged to contact officers on the non-emergency number of 101.
