In recent weeks, vacancies have emerged on job websites advertising for ‘One Below Nuneaton’, confirming that the new discounter are setting up shop in Nuneaton.

Despite the discounter remaining tight-lipped on the shop’s whereabouts, sources inside of the Ropewalk have informed the Free Press that contractors are helping them set up shop inside of the shopping centre’s flagship former TJ Hughes store.

It was mentioned by some sources that the contractors carrying out the works are not using the main public entrance doors on either the top floor or bottom floor.

But, they have instead been gaining access to the shop from alternative side entrances in close proximity to the Victoria Street car park.

It is unknown if both floors of the unit will be used.

Blank blue sheets have already been put up to obscure the windows of the ground floor retail space and construction works are also being carried near the shop’s escalator.

A One Below spokesperson was unavailable for comment at the time of publication (Saturday, 24 September), though they have been approached numerous times.

As well as this, HMV are looking to return to Nuneaton – and job search website Glassdoor reveals that they could be coming back to the Ropewalk.
