MUSIC RETAILER HMV are setting up shop back in Nuneaton once again, following a two-year hiatus away from the town.

It was back in January 2020 when HMV pulled the shutters down to their Ropewalk branch for the final time, marking the end of their 15 year tenure in the town.
But now, they want back ‘in’ on the town’s footfall once again.
This has been made known as brand new job listings were discovered online today (20 September) revealing that they are making a long-awaited return to Nuneaton.
Vacancies for a HMV Nuneaton shop have been listed on job search website Glassdoor – showing they are hiring a Store Manager and Senior Sales Assistant.
New details posted in the description of the Store Manager role confirm that they are opening with “a new shop”.
It reads: “HMV is the UK’s leading specialist retailer of music, film, pop culture and technology products, and we’re coming to Nuneaton! We have a fantastic opportunity for an external manager to help establish, lead and grow our new Nuneaton shop.”
A key detail has been noticed on Glassdoor. When applicants go to apply for either of the positions, it has the Ropewalk Shopping Centre’s postcode.
At present, there is no official confirmation on its whereabouts. The Hinckley Free Press have reached out to a HMV spokesperson directly for further details, but have not yet received any at the time of publication.
Locally, they have many nearby branches in Coventry, Leicester, Solihull, and even two branches in Birmingham.
In fact, their ‘HMV Vault’ store in Dale End, Birmingham, is reportedly “Europe’s biggest entertainment store”, according to The Guardian.
