AN INDEPENDENT cosmetics and fragrances shop in Nuneaton is closing its town centre store – but it will continue to trade from Nuneaton Market.

Keri-Anns, who have been based on Bridge Street in the town centre for many years, have put up a handwritten notice in their front windows announcing a shop closure.
Whilst it hasn’t explicitly been stated by them, this is because Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) are soon set to demolish some retail units around Bridge Street and nearby Church Street, to form part of their Bridge to Living project.
The store was still actively trading yesterday (Saturday, 10 September).
The sign does not give an official closing date – but as it was only put up recently, this suggests that the closure is set to happen sooner than later.
It reads: “This store is closing. We have a market stall on Wednesday and Saturday outside Specsavers. We would like to thank you for all your custom.”
Atherstone branch saved from closure
Keri-Anns have another branch nearby – on Long Street in Atherstone town centre.
This was originally set to shut as well. However, thanks to a change of plan, it will now remain in town as a new owner has been found for it.
A spokesperson for the Atherstone branch told the Atherstone Forum on Facebook: “I just want to let people know that Keri-Ann’s Atherstone is staying open.
“We have been taken over by new management the shop, and staff will stay the same. Thank you to all our customers for your valued and continuous support, hope to see you all soon.”
