Burbage footpath closed from tomorrow – and it will be shut for ‘up to 12 weeks’

A FOOTPATH in Burbage is to close for up to 12 weeks starting tomorrow (Monday, 5 September).

The closure will be in place on Footpath T54, between the Nutts Lane bridge and the Ashby Canal towpath.

This has been approved by Leicestershire County Council’s Highways Team so that the Canal and River Trust, and their contractors, are able to facilitate the resurfacing of the Ashby Canal towpath.

A proposed alternative diversion route will be through Nutts Lane, Hammonds Way, and the A5 and vice versa.

The Hinckley Free Press are able to reveal that with all being well, and works are carried out on time, the footpath should open back up by Friday, 2 December.

A Leicestershire County Council (LCC) spokesperson has issued an apology for any inconvenience which may be caused during these works.
