TIM HORTONS have revealed the opening date for their first ever Leicestershire drive-thru, housed inside of Grove Farm Triangle’s former Pizza Hut building near Fosse Park.

The transformation of the ex-Pizza Hut to Tim’s quietly started some time in June, when contractors were spotted on-site carrying out interior and exterior renovation works.

Today (31 August), a spokesperson for the iconic Canadian coffee chain announced that the drive-thru and restaurant will open its doors for the first time at 7am on 14 September.

Die-hard Tim’s fans and first-timers alike will be able to get their hands on some of the famed Timbits, French vanilla lattes, freshly baked donuts, hot wraps, sandwiches, and burgers.

To celebrate the restaurant marking Tim’s first drive-through in Leicestershire, the first customer in the drive-thru and restaurant queue will be awarded free drinks for an entire year – a massive prize worth a whopping and staggering sum of £3,100.

And, the first 100 customers to head on down will be given a free breakfast meal.

All customers will be given a chance to enjoy the celebrations, with a series of weekly promotions for all to enjoy.

These will start with its ‘fan favourite’ freshly-baked Apple Fritter Donut, which is a bear claw-shaped donut, flavoured with apple and cream, for 99p.

Known for its Canadian charm, the new drive-thru and restaurant will be open from 6am till midnight, seven days a week, with dine-in, takeaway and delivery options available.

An outdoor seating area has also been set up outside the front door, with many tables, meaning that customers will have the chance to dine al-fresco.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Commercial Officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the U.K, said: “Having opened our flagship in Leicester back in 2019, we have built a tremendous following within the local community and have a fantastic relationship with our fans and customers.

“Because of this, we have been truly excited to bring this second venue to area, but this time offering a drive-thru, which will allow even better access to the food and drink that are already well-loved here.”

He concluded: “We have some well-sought after prizes up our sleeve for the opening and can’t wait to share the excitement with our first guests on the day.

“We have recruited an incredible team of fifty new staff members who have been training hard to prepare for the grand opening so we know it’s going to be an incredible launch!”
