HINCKLEY and Bosworth Borough Council have launched an appeal for information over a ‘very large’ fly-tip which happened over the weekend in Newbold Verdon.

A Borough Council spokesperson has stated they believe that the waste, which was dumped at the B582 between Mill Lane and Main Street on the weekend, looks like it was irresponsibly disposed of by a tipper lorry as it moved along the grass verge.

It is believed that this is the case as the debris has been left in three large piles, which is made up of old and new carpet pieces, building waste, kitchen units, and kids toys.

Those with any details on the fly-tip are being encouraged to direct message the Borough Council on Facebook, or alternatively, call them on 01455 238141.

Fly-tippers can be slapped with a fixed penalty notice of £400 upfront.

And, those who spot those in the act, or any traces of a fly-tip, should report it directly to the Borough Council through the dedicated portal on their official website.
