“AMERICA RUNS ON DUNKIN’” is the tagline of American doughnut chain Dunkin’ Donuts – and it will soon prove similar for Fosse Park, as the brand are looking to open their first ever Leicestershire location at the Enderby-based shopping centre.

The American multinational chain, which specialises in doughnuts and hot and cold coffees, have lodged planning permission showing that they are headed to an empty unit in Fosse Park West – Unit 14 – next door to Starbucks Coffee.

This would officially mark their first branch in the county, as their online ‘Store Locator’ shows the nearest branches at this moment are in Nottinghamshire.

Plans have been registered with Blaby District Council’s planning permission portal for brand new illuminated ‘Dunkin’ signs atop the unit, as well as pink and orange vinyl strips at the side, and door handles using Dunkin’s trademark pink colour.

The planning application has been submitted by a firm named SPQ Limited, who serve as a ‘franchise partner’ for Dunkin’ in the United Kingdom, and they have previously helped the doughnut brand open up a location in Liverpool.

Job listings listed on recruitment website Harri.com for the location reveal that the hiring process has already started taking place, with the store looking to hire both a Store Manager and Shift Manager, with these job listings expiring on 20 August.

Dunkin’ Donuts are yet to be approached for comment by the Hinckley Free Press for a comment over the news of their planned new doughnut shop.

Meanwhile, construction works are continuing to taking place at the former Pizza Hut site near Sainsbury’s for the creation of a new Tim Hortons drive-through.
