A NEW occupant may be moving into Hinckley’s former branch of chocolatier giant, Thorntons, sooner than later.
That is according to a new ‘under offer’ sign placed above the unit.
The sign, stating that the ‘prime retail premises’ has been placed “under offer”, was spotted above the Castle Street-based retail unit today (Monday, 25 July).
This means that an offer has been accepted, but the contracts have not yet been exchanged. The property is being managed by Wards Surveyors, a chartered surveyors and letting agents who are based on Station Road in Hinckley.
Thorntons last served up sweet treats to shoppers back in early March 2020, before they closed their doors for good following Government guidance as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
It was five months later that year, in August 2020, that the store had confirmed through posters on the unit that they would not be re-opening to customers again.
At the time of publication, there are no new public details on who the new occupant could be.
Many new businesses have moved into Castle Street, with new ones on the way.
A new coffeehouse, named The Wild Lotus, are in the process of setting up shop next to the Optical People with hopes to open to the public by August.
A new vape and technology store named Vapemax and Techmax have installed signage atop the former PDSA store, hinting that they will be opening soon.
And, national animal charity, the RSPCA, are looking to open a brand new branch inside of Hinckley’s former Mind charity clothing shop.
