This is because it is part of a month-long exhibition to mark and commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year, and the fact that Queen Elizabeth is the first British Monarch to have ever celebrated a Platinum Jubilee.

All of the memorabilia and imagery being displayed has a connection to Her Majesty The Queen, and has been given to the Atkins Building on loan by local residents.

The exhibition started being set up just six days ago (Monday, 5 July), when a spokesperson for the Atkins Building took to its official Facebook page to inform gallery visitors that the work on the exhibition was well underway.

Some of the items featured on display are paintings of Her Majesty, playing cards, glasses with the royal ‘E.R.’ emblem, magazines and newsletters, and ornaments.

The exhibition will be held inside of the main gallery from 11 July through to 12 August, meaning visitors have just one month to pay a visit and have a look at the items which commemorate The Queen herself and celebrate her Platinum Jubilee.
