AN 18-YEAR-OLD man from Nuneaton has been charged after being stopped by police officers on New Century Way in Nuneaton town centre.

Jaydn Duke, of Barton Road, has been charged with possessing an ‘offensive weapon’ in a public place.

Duke was charged after officers who were out on the beat in the town had stopped a vehicle to carry out a ‘police stop’ yesterday (Monday, 4 July).

He was bailed to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 26 July, in three weeks’ time.

No further details have been revealed on the incident at the time of publication.
