Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) have made the unfortunate decision to cancel local musician Steven Faulkner’s ‘Music in the Mead’ performance tomorrow (Saturday, 18 June).

The cancellation was made known on social media by a Borough Council spokesperson, who cited predictions of rain and thunderstorms as the reasoning.

They explained: “Unfortunately tomorrow’s Music in the Mead performance by Steven Faulkner (Saturday 18 June) has been cancelled due to heavy rain and thunderstorms being expected.”

However, his Music in the Mead performance has been re-arranged – and he is still set to perform inside of the bandstand in two months’ time, on Saturday, 17 September.

As the Hinckley Free Press first reported back at the start of May, there is a stacked line up for this year’s much-loved annual afternoon music event, which first started taking place back on Saturday, 21 May.

The upcoming ‘Music in the Mead’ schedule is as follows:

2 July – Jazzology
23 July – ‘The Sounds of Swing’ with Dean Thomas
13 August – V4
20 August – Sam Southall
3 September – Les Five
10 September – Audio Spirit
17 September – Steven Faulkner
