The Highways Team for Leicestershire County Council (LCC) have agreed to close Burbage Common Road starting from Thursday, 16 June, so that contractors from Severn Trent Water are able to carry out repair works to a burst water main.

It is expected that the works will be completed by Monday. 20 June. But, if not, they have the right to ensure that the road remains shut for a total of 21 days.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) will be implemented as a ‘public safety measure’ whilst these works are taking place on the road.

According to a Burbage Parish Council spokesperson, a proposed alternative diversion route will be sign-posted on site whilst the works are taking place.

Access to properties in the area will be maintained, but there will be a ‘short delay’ in gaining access whilst the area is being made safe.
