THE LIBERAL Democrat Parliamentary spokesman for Hinckley and Bosworth has called on Bosworth’s MP to help remove Boris Johnson from office in hopes that a new Prime Minister will be elected.

The vote of confidence is set to start in an hours time at 6pm, as the threshold of 54 letters of ‘no confidence’ from Tory MPs has been exceeded and submitted to the 1922 Committee.
It is believed that a result is to be announced around 9pm.
Locally, Rutland and Melton MP, Alicia Kearns, and another MP across the county border, Rugby MP, Mark Pawsey, have publicly revealed that they have submitted letters of no confidence in Johnson.
Just this afternoon, Pawsey explained in a Tweet that he will be ‘unable to give his support’ to the Prime Minister.
North West Leicestershire MP, Andrew Bridgen, is another Tory MP who has stressed that he has ‘no confidence’ in the PM. He made this known in an email to constituents back in late May (Monday, May 30).
Coun. Michael Mullaney, Parliamentary Spokesperson for the Lib Dems in Hinckley and Bosworth, has today (Monday, 6 June) called upon Bosworth’s Tory MP, Dr. Luke Evans to remove ‘law-breaking’ Boris Johnson as Prime Minister in the vote of no confidence.
The local Lib Dems had first made the call to Dr. Evans back in February, where they urged him to demand that Johnson resign.
Previously speaking to LeicestershireLive, Evans stated that he had “met and spoken with the Prime Minister, and personally made it clear that the reported events at Downing Street are unacceptable.”
Coun. Mullaney, said: “When so many people in Hinckley and Bosworth are suffering from spiralling bills and a cost of living emergency, we can’t have a Prime Minister just focussed on saving his own skin.
“It is time Bosworth’s MP finally does their patriotic duty and sacks Boris Johnson. Our country needs strong leadership and we can’t have any more of this nonsense.
“The Conservative party is wasting precious time with these internal squabbles. We need an emergency tax cut, not a Westminster soap opera.
He further added: “If Bosworth’s MP and their Tory colleagues had the courage and decency to act months ago when the rest of the country all knew Boris Johnson had to go, then we wouldn’t be in this mess right now.”
“It has shocked and disappointed many people that the local Conservative MP has remained loyal to Boris Johnson. By supporting a law-breaking and lying Prime Minister, they are insulting people in our area who made heart breaking sacrifices during the pandemic.”
Just typical of a Liberal demo prat to call for such a thing.sorry who is your national leader these days because I haven’t got a clue and your party is not credible or worthy of running a national government just ask Vincent cable who sold the post office for pennies.come on boris hang in there I know you will beat the jealous backstabbers and wi betide them..
