Just two days ago (Thursday, 26 May), detectives working with Nuneaton Proactive CID swooped on a suspected drug deal when they were out on the beat in Market Place in the town centre.

An 18-year-old male, named Tom Powell, of Bottrill Street in Nuneaton, was subsequently arrested and later charged with being concered in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.

As well as this, a publicly unnamed 21-year-old man also from Nuneaton was arrested on being concerned in the supply of drugs – and he remains in police custody.

The arrests were made as a part of a proactive patrol which targets drug crime in the town.
