A NEW chairman has been chosen for Burbage Parish Council.
Coun. Danny Findlay (Lib Dem, Sketchley Ward), has been named as the Parish Council’s new chairman – a title he will hold for a year, from 2022 through to 2023.
He was handed the chain of office from outgoing chairman, Coun. Keith Lynch, at the Annual Parish Council meeting earlier this month on Monday, May 9.
In a statement obtained by the Hinckley Free Press, Coun. Findlay has described it as a ‘privilege’ – and thanked previous chairman, Coun. Keith Lynch.
He said: “It is a privilege to have taken over as Chairman of the Council for the forthcoming year.
“I’d like to put my thanks on record to the outgoing Chairman, Cllr. Keith Lynch, for his tremendous contributions.
He concluded: “The Council has an exciting year ahead, starting with events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and I look forward to updating residents on the fantastic work we do in the coming weeks and months.”
As well as working with the Parish Council, Coun. Findlay also works with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC).
He serves as a Borough Councillor for the Burbage Sketchley & Stretton ward and he is Vice Chairman of the Borough Council’s Planning Committee.
