Burbage Road in Burbage has closed starting today (19 May) with an ’emergency’ road closure, after Leicestershire County Council’s Highways Team agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order.

The emergency road closure will be in place from properties numbered 57 to 69.

The works will last for around three weeks, but it is expected that it is to fully re-open in 21 days’ time, on Thursday, 9 June.

According to a Leicestershire County Council spokesperson, the traffic regulation order has been implemented as a public safety measure, so that Coventry-based water supplier, Servern Trent, are able to facilitate the repair of a burst water main.

A proposed alternative diversion route is to be signed on site.

The spokesperson further added: “Access to the properties will be maintained, but a short delay in gaining access to them will occur whilst the area is being made safe.”
