A ROAD in Burbage is to close for up to two days starting next Tuesday for public safety so that a power distributor can carry out works.

Starting Tuesday, 24 May, the road on Swains Green will be closed from properties numbered 12 to 18, after a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) was granted by Leicestershire County Council’s Highways Team.
The Traffic Regulation Order was implemented as a “public safety” measure so that Western Power Distribution and their contractors are able to undertaker an alteration to a service in the area.
A Burbage Parish Council spokesperson has stated that “access will be maintained”, but they have also warned that there could be a delay as the area is being made safe.
According to online traffic map, one.network, the work will finish on Thursday, 26 May.
At the time of publication (Tuesday, 17 May), there were no details stating that temporary traffic lights or diversion routes would be in place.
On the same two days, the power distributor will further carry out works on the nearby road of Boyslade Road. But, this will only see ‘some carriageway incursion’ – not a full road closure.
