Applicants looking to apply for the funds to mark the occasion have a total of six days left, as the deadline is next Friday (20 May).

A spokesperson for Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has previously stated that “groups and volunteers will need to demonstrate that they are an existing group, and that the celebrations are an extension of their existing offer to the community”.

As the Hinckley Free Press reported back in March, constituted groups can apply to the ‘Making a Difference’ fund for up to £3,000, to help support grass roots projects.

And, small groups of volunteers can apply for the ‘Community Volunteering’ fund, of up to £500, which is open to ‘non-constituted’ groups.

Those looking to apply for the Making a Difference fund can apply at this link and those wanting to apply for the Community Volunteering fund can do so at this link.

On the day of the momentous and once in a lifetime Jubilee (Sunday, 5 June), the Borough Council are holding a street party inside one of Hinckley’s ‘beautiful’ town centre parks, where attendees can celebrate with their own ‘big Jubilee lunch’.
